Rescue 35 has been busy over the past week with weather related calls. On January 8, Rescue 35 was called to assist Company 36 with a motor vehicle roll-over on Mosquito Hollow Road. 36 Command cancelled Rescue 35 en route. Upon returning, Rescue 35 was alerted for vehicles stranded on Henrietta Mountain Rd.

On January 13, Rescue 35 was called to assist Huntingdon County 17 for a MVC in just west of Broad Top City. Crews assisted with hazard mitigation and patient packaging. Saxton Medic 15-3 assisted Unit 1700 with the ALS transport. After completing their assignment, Rescue 35 was dispatched from the scene to assist Fulton County Station 57 with a skid steer fire endangering a structure. 57 Command place all mutual aid companies available, and held the call to only incoming 57 units.

Company 35 reminds motorists to be exceptionally cautious on local roadways. Snow and ice melt are dependent upon numerous factors, including traffic volume. With day time temperatures getting above freezing, and even on days when the sun is out but the temps are below freezing, melting causes an issue after the sun goes down. Also, be reminded that Henrietta Mountain has no winter maintenance.
