Looming Storm

Company 35's Public Information Officer Branden S Diehl reminds residents to be cautious in their travels, and to lend a helping hand by adopting a hydrant. With a looming storm that could bring 4 to 10 inches of snow, road conditions are going to be treacherous and hydrants lost in the white stuff.

 

Diehl said, "We're asking residents to simply brush off their hydrants at a minimum. This will help keep the snow and ice from melting and causing issues with the hydrant's operation. Better yet, make a three foot path around your hydrant--this will allow quick access in the event of a fire. Minutes count, and your assistance WILL make a difference."

 

The storm track is still uncertain. There is the possibility for a significant ice accumulation. If you lose heat or power, please contact 814-623-1105. This is especially important if you are elderly, have a medical condition or are on in-home oxygen.
