Company 35 and mutual aid companies were dispatched this morning for a purported stove fire with fire into the walls (extension). Company 35 responded with a full house (all apparatus) to the scene. Crews identified one wooden stove cover ignited with moderate smoke in the structure. The single home occupant was self evacuated. The damage was confined to the stove area, and no extension was found. Crews were able to extinguish the fire with pressurized water cans, and minimized water damage. Ventilation was completed, as was an assessment of the occupant. Company 36 assisted on scene, all other mutual aid was cancelled en route. Quick action by the occupant, a robust Fire Prevention Program, and a quick response ensured a positive outcome.
