The unpredictable weather created a driving headache starting around 1530 this afternoon. Company 35 Fire Police were called to assist with diverting traffic around Liquor Store Hill at approximately 1745. They assisted Saxton PD with clearing the roadway of stranded vehicles prior to PennDOT arriving to remove snow/slush and applying antiskid.
Approximately 20 minutes later, Rescue 35 and Unit 15 were dispatched for a single vehicle accident on Raystown Road south of the intersection with Saxton Road. Chief 35 was first on scene and reported one vehicle off the roadway with the patient self-extricated. Unit 15 personnel assessed the patient who refused transport. Rescue 35 provided scene lighting and its crew and Rescue 36's crew assisted with scene safety and hazard mitigation. Company 35 and Saxton PD assisted on scene.
