At approximately 2200 hours Company 35 was alerted for a full house assist with Company 36 for a purported structure fire. Medic 4 was the first on scene, and confirmed a working structure fire. As units responded, Medic 4 reported the fire spread to a nearby car and garage. Engine 35 was first on scene, and made the initial attack suppressing the porch fire, extinguishing the car and garage, and then focusing on making entry into the structure. Truck 35 was unable to access the structure due to electrical lines. It served as the primary unit responsible for fire grounds water supply.
Saxton PIO Diehl said, "The structure was a mixture of stick/wood framed and heavy timber. This complicated overhauling efforts and ventilation. Multiple fill sites were established to provide water for tanker shuttles."
Units from Everett, Southern Cove, Six Mile Run, Saxton, and Robertsdale were all on scene until approximately 0230 Friday morning.
